Elevator Pitch: Senior Seminar, Quarter 1
- Description of Assignment / Work:
In my period 2 Senior Seminar class, students had to create a presentation and elevator pitch for our senior projects. We had to show clearly what and who our project was for. We had to create a timeline draft and driving questions, as well as come up with a few general things for our senior projects. We then had to create a presentation based on this and present it to the class. My senior project is about renovating the community garden in Wailuku, so I made my slideshow presentation match that theme. - What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why?
I was most proud that I presented it well and thought about how I would present my senior project well. I was also happy with the actual slideshow that I chose. I spent a good amount of time thinking about what my senior project would be and how I would present it. - What was most difficult about completing this task?
The most difficult part of this assignment was trying to justify why my project was important to me and trying to come up with deliverables and clear goals for the project. - How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently?
I could’ve been more detailed with my goals and how I planned on accomplishing the goals I set for my project. If I were to do the assignment again, I would add more about the specifics of my project and try to present that more clearly. - How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? How can you apply this to future learning?
I had to do sort of the same thing last year for my junior project, so that definitely tied into what we did this year. I will have to present my senior project again, so doing this helped me to know what to expect. - Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment?
I think the 21st Century Skill that was addressed in this assignment was thinking and problem-solving. We had to brainstorm our senior project and think about what challenges we could expect from our projects and how we thought we could handle and/or solve them during our project.
